GAZA – Diplomats from Lithuania and Finland had the opportunity to witness the progress of LPJ projects in El- Zaitoun Latin compound in the Gaza Strip.
Last week, Ambassador Pirkko-Liisa Kyöstilä, Head of the Representative Office of Finland in Ramallah, and Ms. Nida Dalmantaitė, Head of the Representative Office of the Republic of Lithuania were on a site visit to the Latin Compound.
Latin Patriarchate Chief Engineer Habib Sleibi, who conducted the visit, briefed the diplomats on the various projects that the Patriarchate is currently implementing in Gaza, aiming to improve the quality of life of the Christian community there.
One of these projects is the solar energy system, which LPJ saw the conclusion of its first phase last week. The system will allow residents, workers, students and parishioners to maintain regular and normal schedules and activities in light of the constant power outages in the Gaza strip.
